Position Available:
Administrative Assistant Supervisor
Reports to: Executive Director
Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO), a non-profit law firm that provides free legal help in civil legal matters to eligible individuals and groups in western Ohio, seeks a supervisor for its administrative assistants. This position will support seven locations in western Ohio. Any of LAWO’s offices can be the primary home office with occasional travel required to the other offices.
This is a significant leadership position in the firm. The Administrative Assistant Supervisor works with other firm leadership for the successful operation of the firm, most importantly the provision of high-quality legal services. The person in this position must work well with other managers, and staff, clients, and community partners to implement LAWO’s mission and must be thoroughly committed to that mission. The Administrative Assistant Supervisor must demonstrate strong leadership, creativity and initiative, administrative and supervisory skills, and sound judgment. They also must be highly skilled at working effectively in a collaborative environment in which decision- making is often shared among managers.
Experience, Duties, and Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational skills; capacity to meet deadlines in a multi-function office environment.
Able to travel to offices to meet, train, and collaborate with staff
Supervise the administrative assistant staff and the Toledo office receptionist.
Develop and implement work plans.
Have a good working knowledge of administrative processes and protocols, including electronic filing procedures.
Have relevant administrative assistant experience and skills plus demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
Relate well with people in poverty; be dependable, competent, trustworthy; and have a commitment to legal services and working with people in poverty.
High degree of skill and familiarity with computer systems and software appropriate for effective case management and delivery of legal services.
High standards of interpersonal communication; effective written and oral communication skills.
Sound judgment and initiative; adhere to confidentiality requirements in client representation and personnel matters.
