A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. Compensation Analyst I, in partnership with the Director, Compensation, is responsible for overseeing and administering the Company’s compensation (comp) programs. This role will lead efforts to support a competitive job framework and compensation structure as well as drive activities related to the annual compensation review processes.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Develop, implement, and administer compensation policies and programs.
  • Conduct market studies and analysis to ensure compensation programs are externally competitive, internally equitable, and in alignment to the Company’s compensation philosophy.
    • Create, update, and administer the pay grade structure; Identify and recommend structure movements.
    • Create new job families as business requires and align jobs to correct career track levels, pay grade structure and internal job families.
    • Evaluate and recommend grade adjustments for jobs or job families where market is moving.
  • Oversee the Company’s annual compensation review process.
    • Develop requirements and guidelines,
    • Configure and test comp planning system,
    • Review recommendations for conformance to company guidelines, budgets, and internal equity,
    • Analyze and develop pay increase recommendations, incorporating and reporting on internal pay equity.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to deliver seamless support to the business on compensation needs and issues.
  • Collaborate with HR Technology team to maintain integrity of the job framework and compensation structure in UKG.
  • Develop creative methods for compiling and preparing data for analyses, including but not limited to designing reports and tools to use in compensation related analytics and dashboards.
  • Create and present materials for leadership review; Synthesizes findings in easy-to-understand concepts and presentations.
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll in the administration of corporate bonus; collaborate with HR Technology on corporate bonus communications.
  • Partner with HR Admin, Stock Team, and HRBPs to support the administration of new hire and promotion equity compensation.
  • Conduct market research to assist with international LTI compensation program modeling.
  • Provide change management, communication, and training around compensation plans.
  • Work independently to complete the Company’s participation in compensation surveys to ensure overall competitive positioning.
  • Lead implementation of compensation platform PayFactors for survey management, salary structure updates, and compensation analytics.
  • Advise on matters of FLSA exemption.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • Certified Compensation Professional designation strongly preferred.
  • Previous HR generalist experience preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience administering compensation programs.
  • 8 years' experience with MS Office and Excel, specifically in formulas, pivot tables, graphs, and vlookups at an advanced proficiency/master level.
  • 5 years’ experience working with UltiPro/UKG or other HRIS software and reporting.
  • Knowledge of California and Federal employment laws as they pertain to compensation administration.
  • A positive approach to people and problem solutions along with a strong sense of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical skills to effectively analyze data and create meaningful, understandable models, reports, metrics, and charts. Balance “big picture” perspective with attention to detail. A high degree of accuracy is essential.
  • Ability to successfully work independently or across teams on multiple projects with overlapping time frames and shifting priorities, strong time management skills.
  • Ability to think proactively, identify problems and solutions, and exhibit a high-level of self-initiative.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You’ll also receive 10 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (starting in year 1) and have access to a 401k plan with company match. Learn more about Tandem’s benefits here!
