Talynt is Hiring a Manufacturing Operations Manager Near Columbus, OH

Position Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the production, warehouse, and logistics functions for the Columbus, Ohio location. This role is crucial in ensuring the location is operating safely, delivering product to meet customer expectations, executing to the budget, and strategically preparing for future growth.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution management a must.
  • Experience in granite industry a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations Oversight:
  • Manage and optimize daily business operations, including production, warehouse, and logistics activities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve overall efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the Ohio operations team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to promote the Salem Stone Core Values.
  • Human Resources
  • Point of contact for all Human Resource communication between Human Resource Generalist and Ohio Operations
  • Responsible for the compliance of Human Resource and Salem Stones Handbook requirements.
  • Responsible for on-site transactions and training of on-boarding/off-boarding employees.
  • Production (Internal and/or External) Management:
  • Oversee the production processes, ensuring timely and high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Warehouse, Logistics and Distribution:
  • Responsible for physical inventory management and accuracy.
  • Coordinate logistics and distribution activities to meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with carriers to optimize transportation and delivery processes.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Coordinator, team members and other departments to address and resolve any quality issues.
  • Budget Management:
  • Manage budget for the operations at location. This includes labor costs and overtime, material scrap and damage costs, supplies, maintenance/repairs on equipment and building, safety, utilities, employee travel and expenses.
  • Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze key performance indicators to measure and improve operational performance.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure work environment.
  • Leadership Team:
  • Provide ideas, input, and feedback on strategic initiatives for location in alignment with company goals.
  • Provide support, as needed, on any responsibilities and/or projects that align to company growth.
  • Collaborate with Leadership Team on company policies and procedures.
  • Support and invest in the culture and professional development of self and team members.
  • Follow, support and train employees as needed on EOS processes and tools

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of logistics and production processes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, ERP software and needed tools for operations management.
