Summary of the position
The Operations Manager position is a leadership position within Sequoia's growing Operations division. This role will be responsible for leading all aspects of Billing, Reporting and related workflows and projects, while providing strategic guidance to the team. In this role you will collaborate closely with Trading, Portfolio Analysts, Technology, Client Service & our Advisor teams.
Leadership Responsibilities
* Execute performance reviews, set individual/team goals, and assist with employee development. Participate in recruiting & hiring efforts when necessary.
* Provide forward thinking leadership and guidance to meet goals, help manage resources and continue to build on the support for our Advisors, our Firm and our Clients.
* Management and oversight of the following
* Fee's & Billing
* Portfolio Reporting
* Including
Alternatives reporting & tracking
* Consolidated reporting
* Aggregation
* Data maintenance and monitoring
* Separately Managed Account Operations
* Own custodial relationship procedural documentation and policies
Policy & Procedures
* Create, improve & maintain relevant policy and procedure documentation and training materials related to Operations
* Help build advisor support workflows and models, including SLA and queue management
* Continuously align department functions to standardization while creating sufficient redundancies amongst the team
Project Management
* Work with the Head of Operations and project manager(s) to maintain and execute on COO roadmap items
* Own and/or coordinate ownership of Operations projects
* Integration planning with other departments/software
* Data accuracy and/or cleanup
M&A Migration
* Partner on the delivery of integrations of newly acquired firms for reporting & billing systems to Sequoia's standard operations.
* Identify outliers, communicate, and drive toward Sequoia standards, finding solutions for newly acquired firms
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
* Minimum 5 years experience in management
* Minimum 5 years experience working within investment management operations
* Able to evaluate operational processes from the perspective of all stakeholders
* Comfortable presenting to large audiences and senior managers
* Ability to travel when needed
Preferred Skills/Experience
* Knowledge of both Schwab and Fidelity custodial platforms
* Experience working with Tamarac/Envestnet platform
* Billing and reporting background
