Position Summary:
Provides transformational leadership for a customer and Sales and Service Center facing technical team.
Develops, articulates, and executes long-term vision for a team of engineering supervisors, engineers, and technicians to support and advance technology platforms needed to drive enterprise sales objectives. Partner with other functions including the commercial organization, sales and service centers, and operations to effectively implement product and global market strategies that are solutions focused, matching our portfolio of products and services with customer needs. Provide SME thought leadership around technical compliance requirements across multiple global jurisdictions.
Manages supervisors, engineers, technicians, and/or other technical associates, assuring the appropriate technical skills, and supporting tools, are present to support current and future technical needs. Provides informal leadership across the organization and interacts with multiple sites and levels of management while devising new approaches and solutions.
Results will be recognized through maintaining key responsiveness metrics for delivering technical and applications solutions to internal and external customers while continually driving Sales and Service Centers to be more effective and self-sufficient.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement innovative ideas around customized solutions for sales and service centers and customers.
2. Serve as strategic planning leader for the functional area, establish objectives and define and prioritize key projects to support the plan.
3. Work with market and product directors on strategy development.
4. Lead global compliance efforts regarding local product attributes and requirements.
5. Work with team to develop systems and processes designed to provide excellent responsiveness to sales and service centers, internal partners, and external customers.
6. Develop the abilities of engineers and supervisors and assist with departmental performance planning and personnel issues.
7. Manage department budget.
8. Communicate department and company strategies with department.
9. Communicate departmental project status to upper management (i.e. monthly reports)
10. Communicate with Sales and Service Center personnel and distributor principals to review business cases and disposition escalations in a way aligned with business priorities and objectives.
11. Advises others in company how to solve technical problems; can lead larger team efforts to solve problems that involve multi-departmental or interdisciplinary effort.

B.S. in engineering or a similar technical field; MBA preferred.
