CompanyOverview : Our Clienthas an exciting opportunity for an experienced Permit Analyst(Customer ServiceRep)
JobSummary : Performstechnical and clerical reviews of building plans and issues permitsconsistent with department regulations.
This is a technicalposition with significant responsibility that requires soundjudgment and excellent customer service skills.
Work is performedwith considerable independence under the supervision of the SeniorPermit Analyst or Assistant Manager PlansReview.
RepresentativeDuties / Responsibilities :
Assists with the issuance of permits inspections and plan submittalprocesses.
Communicates and interacts effectively assisting customers inperson and bytelephone
withpolicy and procedure associated with obtaining and completingbuildingpermits
and / orfire systempermits.
Reviews applications for completeness and compliance withdepartmentalrequirements.
Resolves customer s problems and refers complex problems tosupervisor asneeded.
Sorts and inputs inspection schedules andresults.
Accepts plans and checks required seals signatures soil reportsdocumentedcalculations
costestimates and / or fire protection systempermits.
Stamps and routesplans.
Implements zoning regulations in the review of all types ofdevelopment permits suchas
commercialresidential andsignage.
Resolves complex zoning problems that require detailed analysis ofsite andarchitectural
documents
MinimumQualifications
Graduation fromhigh school or equivalent and two (2) years of technical / clericalexperience including customer service;
or an equivalent combinationof education training orexperience.
Must havedemonstrated the ability to communicate effectively both verballyand in writing with the general public while discussing explainingand interpreting departmentalpolicies.
PreferredQualifications
Demonstratedcomputer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoftapplications.
