THE ROLE:
Responsible for receiving and accounting for all monies due to the hotel. Responsible for credit and collections of accounts. Processes all invoices payable by the hotel. Responsible for all general cashier duties to include process deposits and provide central cashier services for Hotel. Complete daily income audit. Monitor and make changes to forecasts and make recommendations based on hotel business levels.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
General Cashier
Retrieves deposits from drop safe and does daily deposits.
Counts house safe at beginning and end of each shift and maintains the petty cash fund.
Reimburses any due backs/petty cash.
Accounts Payables
Receives all Hotel invoices. Matches invoices with purchase orders, receiving records and packing slips. Compares prices on invoices to purchase orders to ensure accuracy of prices. Verifies addition and extensions of all invoices. Codes invoices to correct expense categories and accounts for State Sales Tax if applicable. Distributes to appropriate manager for approval.
Processes and posts accounts payable invoices and credits into Birchstreet, then transmit & post into Great Plains
Verify all accounts payable checks returned to property for signature. Files in alphabetical order by vendor name and matches checks to invoice for signature and disbursement of checks.
Accounts Receivables
Posts electronic fund transfers
Enters cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by guest and/or group.
General Accounting Duties
Complete daily income audit and revenue journal to ensure timely and accurate hotel financials.
Reviews all work transferred by night audit from the guest ledger to the city ledger.
Responsible for preparing and distributing the daily & weekly accounting reports.
Tracks revenue from sales tax, occupancy tax, miscellaneous charges, credit card transactions, and food and beverage transactions for daily and month end reconciliation.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school with focus in accounting; or 2 years accounts payable/cashier experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of previous accounting and finance experience in a hotel finance environment
