Who We’re Looking ForLOS TACOS No. 1 is looking for an experienced and reliable Staff Accountant to join its fast-paced and growing team. The ideal candidate will be well-organized and a strong communicator, have impeccable attention to detail, be familiar with the restaurant/hospitality industry, and be eager to learn and grow with the company. This position will report to and work directly with the current Director of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cost accounting, maintain the general ledger, and perform other related duties
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Work closely with Director of Finance to reconcile accounts and close monthly books
- Update cash flow model on a weekly and monthly basis
- Create a weekly snapshot P&L of the company’s food and labor cost percentage
- Check cash deposits on a daily basis and record any discrepancies
- Allocate expenses in QuickBooks Online and Expensify to properly log bank and credit card transactions
- Properly accrue and record relevant current and prepaid expenses on a monthly basis
- Document the product mix from the POS to assist in forecasting sales
- Enter accounts payable invoices and bill payments
- Complete year-end tax reporting and 1099 filings
- Create ad hoc reports as needed
- 4-6 years of finance/accounting work experience
- Preference for candidates in restaurants or hospitality
- Expert knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
- Experience with Quickbooks or Quickbooks Online
- Experience with sales tax filing preferred
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ability to multi-task and establish priorities
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in finance/accounting
This position will have a base annual salary in the range of $80-90K. In addition, this position will be eligible for the following benefits:
