St. James Bay Golf and Pickleball Resort is Hiring a Chef Near Tallahassee, FL

St. James Bay Golf and Pickleball Resort, in beautiful Carrabelle, Florida, is seeking an experienced Chef to create, prepare and present high-quality cuisine. You will be second in command to our Executive Chef and assist him managing back of the house staff and monitoring labor costs to attain budgeted goals.

Chef position is in Carrabelle, Florida at St. James Bay Golf & Pickleball Resort

Job Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals in a timely manner, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation and timely delivery to guests.

  • Manage and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Ensure consistent quality control.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized and safe.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
  • Assist Executive Chef as requested, including but not limited to the following:

Ø Setting staffing schedules

Ø Monitoring labor costs to attain budgeted goals.

Ø Anticipate, identify, and correct any issues with inventory, kitchen policies, procedures, and staffing.

Ø Create prep lists for kitchen crew.

Ø Ensure utilization of daily prep sheets and meat/fish yield sheets daily and that product counts are recorded accurately daily.

Ø Order and evaluate the quality of new food.

Ø Manage food costing and inventory.

Ø Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.

Ø Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.

Ø Build repeat patronage and boost brand image.

Ø Develop methods of collecting and evaluating customer feedback; acknowledge and thank guests for positive feedback, respond to negative feedback with apology and resolve to correct root cause.

Qualifications

Possess the skills and ability to accomplish all above job responsibilities.

  • Work well in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen.
  • Excel at project management and is organized.
  • Collaborates effectively and has strong interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 3 years chef experience.
  • Associates of occupational science or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field (preferred).
