Powerplan is Hiring a Sales Operations Analyst Near Atlanta, GA

Overview

PowerPlan helps optimize the financial performance of our customers’ assets by developing strategic solutions for complex problems. To support our growth aspirations, we are looking for a Sales Analyst to join our Commercial Operations function. This role will play a key role in optimizing our commercial processes and strategies to drive revenue growth by providing timely and accurate reporting and analysis and sales forecasting, and by working with the Sales and Customer Success teams on day-to-day activities and initiatives.

We are looking for someone who brings a data analyst mindset to enable confident decision making to continue PowerPlan’s growth trajectory. This person must be analytical, good with technology, and a continuous learner. This person must also be able to quickly build credibility by providing high quality, accurate work to Commercial and Finance leadership. This position will report to the Director, Commercial Operations with high visibility and interaction with the senior commercial leaders and the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts. Working closely with commercial leadership, create forecasts using pipeline data, historical results, and deal-specific input from Sales and Customer Success management. Also, analyze historical data and market trends to continually improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create and update recurring reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) for Sales and Customer Success teams. This includes multiple reports and dashboards that monitor performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve results.
  • CRM Data Management: Support team members to ensure CRM and other tools contain accurate and timely information about accounts, contacts, and opportunities by ensuring system usability, training internal teams on system usage, and monitoring data quality/hygiene.
  • Territory Assignments and Incentive Compensation: Analyze and calculate metrics to assist in optimization of territory assignments to pair the right reps with the right accounts using account data (historical sales, future opportunity, geography, etc.). Work with commercial leadership annually to update and improve compensation structures that motivate and reward sales teams appropriately. Monitor and forecast incentive compensation payouts to ensure alignment with company results and to maximize sales effectiveness and motivation.
  • Commercial Initiatives and Program Management: Provide analytical support on various commercial initiatives (ad hoc and ongoing) aimed at driving revenue growth and enhancing customer satisfaction. These initiatives may include sales programs, customer surveys, end-of-life campaigns, and other strategic initiatives. Collaborate with team members to implement these initiatives, monitor their progress, and analyze their impact on the company's performance.
  • Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar.
    • 1-3 years of experience in sales operations, FP&A, or other relevant function.
    • Extensive knowledge of Excel with ability to create and analyze complex financial models.
    • Experience with SalesForce.com and Gainsight.
    • Data expert: Querying and scoping (Salesforce), analysis and modeling, summarizing (pivot tables, charts, slides, written explanation), reporting (dashboards, repositories, Power BI)
    • Ability to do financial analysis to make data driven strategic decisions.
    • Experience converting Excel and Salesforce data into PowerPoint presentations.
    • Proven ability to manage priorities in a high paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
    • Resourceful problem-solver adept at navigating needs and exceeding expectations.

    Preferred

    • Software company experience is a plus.
    • Utility industry experience a plus.
