Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team and help us maintain financial integrity as we continue to expand and thrive. As the Controller at Placements.io, you will be a key member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and success of our growing startup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.

• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and transactions.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.

• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain internal controls.

• Manage the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.

• Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

• Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.

• Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Lead and mentor a small offshore finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred).

• Proven experience in a similar controller or senior accounting role, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience working for a startup with SaaS and Usage revenue. Ideally from $0 to 9figures in revenue.

• Big4 experience is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.

• Effective communication and leadership skills.
