ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER LEVEL 2 POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Electrical Project Manager Level 2 is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects, while keeping the project on schedule, within budget and to the satisfaction of the stakeholders. They also have to manage the project team, communication and risks. Project Value Ranges: $400,000 to $2,000,000.

This a salaried, exempt position that reports directly to the Director of Construction.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Initiation:

  • Coordinate with internal team, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives, scope, requirements and alignment.
  • Develop comprehensive project plan that includes budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
  • Create and manage project schedules using a Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Manage procurement processes, and maintain relationships with vendors. Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the project site.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage contractor/vendor/subcontractor relationships.

Project Execution and Management:

  • Oversee and manage all electrical construction activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Monitor project expenses, track costs against the budget, and make adjustments as necessary. Ensure that the project stays within budget constraints and identify areas for cost savings.
  • Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, highlighting project status, milestones, and potential issues. Conduct regular project meetings to communicate progress, address concerns, and provide updates.
  • Address any project risks or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, project team members, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Resolve conflicts, address issues, and provide technical guidance to project team members.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify electrical system performance and functionality.
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
  • Monitor and control project risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, cost estimates, and project updates for management.
  • Manage all closeout procedures including: documentation, O&M’s, record drawings, construction cost database input, follow-up marketing and team debriefing.
  • Evaluate project outcomes, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations for process improvements.

Other Duties:

  • Attend & Participate in Project Managers meetings
  • Attend & Participate in monthly Superintendent meetings
  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives to enhance project management capabilities and promote best practices.
  • Provide feedback to company as needed for improvement in other organizational area as needed.
  • Lifelong learner: Attend, participate, and pass trainings/classes as required and as self-selected.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years Project Management experience with Commercial, Medical, and Industrial projects over $800,000.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications Preferred or willingness to take: PMI Project Management Ready, CAPM - Certified Associate in Project Management, PMP - Project Management Professional
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Pre-employment drug/fitness screening through Ergomed and Background Check are required.
