Position: Assistant Project Manager

Reports To: Senior Project Manager

Department: Projects Department

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The assistant project manager will develop and implement processes and procedures to assist in the seamless flow of project information between clients and in-field management operations. This position will be responsible for creating project submittal packages, material tracking, drafting RFI’s, and assisting in project closeout and warranty procedures. Assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent’s in communicating with General Contractors, and flow of project information for the duration of the project and warranty period will be critical. This position must understand commercial construction processes and terminology, and a general understanding of landscape/irrigation processes and terminology will also be useful. The overall purpose of this position is to assist in elevating and disseminating project information from contracting through the warranty period. Through proper implementation the goal is exceptional customer service, time management, the ability to hit deadlines, and overall project accuracy resulting in development of profitability.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Acquire relevant project information
  • Help coordinate crews on warranty repairs
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to manage their schedule to ensure all properties are being managed during warranty/turnover period
  • Attend final walk-through meetings with Operations Team and Clients for a seamless transition from contracting to installation and through the warranty
  • A willingness to learn landscape/irrigation plans and materials
  • Communicate accurate, timely, and detailed information to Operations team
  • Maintain professional working relationships with key stakeholders, architects, construction managers, property managers, and brokers to ensure success on projects
  • Coordinate and communicate warranty work schedules
  • Review drawings and warranty issues with Operations Management team; highlight areas of concern
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Procore, and Bluebeam

Job Qualifications:

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related fields preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction subcontractor environment
  • Field experience on jobsites preferred

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
