Ditesco has an immediate need for a Project Manager to join our team in Fort Collins or Loveland, CO. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your expertise to a well-known and trusted firm!

Ditesco, an ESP Associates company, is a Fort Collins based program management, project management, construction management and civil engineering firm that focuses on delivering high quality services tailored to our client’s needs. We have been trusted with delivering projects ranging from water and wastewater treatment facilities, transportation, utilities, dams, public spaces, municipal broadband, and vertical buildings.

We focus on providing value through trust, dedication, and hard work, utilizing a total project delivery philosophy that provides clients with a complete management effort from project conception through final close-out.

SUMMARY

The Project Manager position within Ditesco is a registered engineer position with management authority. This position is responsible for design and construction of water, wastewater, utility, telecommunications, broadband, and heavy civil projects. This includes construction oversight and the management and supervision of multiple projects at one time. A Project Manager will manage the overall contracting, budget management, progress, quality, delivery and customer experience across multiple service lines in Ditesco. This position operates with minimal oversight from the Senior Project or Program Manager. This position is directly responsible for planning, management direction, project completion, client satisfaction, and the financial outcome of assigned construction projects.

Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the assigned Program Manager or Senior Project Manager.
Supervision Exercised: May supervise subordinates.

COMPENSATION
Ditesco offers a comprehensive compensation package including competitive salary, health care; 401k, paid vacation, holidays, floating holidays, and performance-based bonuses. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned. Duties are varied in nature and include:

  • Works at local and remote jobsites, as assigned.
  • Responsible for management project design tasks such as data collection, report dissemination, plan and specification production, quality control, bidding and construction administration across all service lines.
  • Perform management of design and construction activities for broadband outside plant fiber and telecommunication initiatives.
  • Proven capability to draft technical reports, present, and speak in public.
  • Develop, implement, manage, and supervise project controls (cost, schedule, quality).
  • Develop and manage construction cost forecasts including cash flow analysis for various construction deliveries.
  • Directly responsible for internal and external job cost analysis on project budgets.
  • Performs project schedule analysis using Microsoft Project or other project management scheduling software to track critical path, and monitor float and project progress.
  • Oversee staff who prepare for and manage weekly project progress meetings.
  • Ensure all meeting minutes and overall job documentation are produced and distributed in a timely fashion.
  • Write, review and/or develop and distribute monthly dashboard reports.
  • Manage relationships with clients, industry and trade partners.
  • Responsible for proper job documentation including daily reports, test reports and agency reports.
  • Responsible for the development and management of construction quality control and assurance programs.
  • Responsible for all oversight of construction inspection efforts; for engineering design and construction management services.
  • Manage the overall contract administration of various project types (GMP, Unit Price, Cost Plus, etc.) including development, review, and approval of pay applications, change orders, field orders and change directives.
  • Oversee and manage work items, scheduling, and communication amongst contractors, utility companies, governmental agencies, citizens, and others as needed.
  • Perform and have direct responsibility for all contract administration.
  • Develop and manage project risk registers related to engineering design and construction management.
  • For assigned projects, ensure timely invoicing and accurate reporting of project costs; maintain Ditesco project budgets.
  • Perform internal and external job cost analysis on project budgets.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Special Licensing or Certification: Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado required.
  • Experience:Minimum 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in civil engineering and construction with an emphasis in the following areas:
    • Construction Management and Project Management
    • Contract Administration and Delivery Models
    • Engineering experience related to private, municipal or federal agency projects

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience in engineering, project or construction management with an emphasis on heavy civil construction, telecommunications, buildings or industrial facilities.
  • Verifiable knowledge of engineering principles and construction practices related to heavy civil, commercial, and public buildings, water, wastewater, pipeline, telecommunications, and road/bridge construction.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with and follow standard safety practices and procedures common to construction work.
  • Thorough understanding of project management approaches, strategies and construction phasing and practices to implement this knowledge in accurate scheduling and project controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile data and statistics and evaluate and write reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare budgets, and proposals, and manage job costs.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare engineering cost estimates for design and construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare construction cost estimates for design and construction projects to a Class 1 level of accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively communicate using both oral and written communication to internal, and external teams and clients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to supervise assigned staff, mentor, and manage career growth.
  • Proven knowledge of program management principles, financing, permitting, and overall project development.
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Microstation experience.
  • ArcGIS experience.
  • Microsoft Project scheduling software or similar experience.

Language Skills 
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to apply mathematical concepts necessary to perform structural, highway geometry, and hydraulic calculations at a professional engineering level. Ability to develop, analyze and manipulate financial plans, forecasts and budgets.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
