Lapin Services seeks a highly skilled, detail-oriented, well-organized candidate to join our team and serve as the company’s Controller. The candidate will perform all aspects of the company’s day-to-day Accounting and Human Resource tasks. Some responsibilities will include oversight of the Accounts Payable process, reconciling all accounts, financial reporting, taxes, and annual audits, assisting with insurance renewals, and completing payroll. Responsibilities:
Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts on a daily basis, maintaining financial records using QuickBooks and ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
We review and approve all outgoing check transactions daily within our online banking portal so that checks can be paid by the bank.
Daily deposits for incoming checks using our in-house electronic check scanner.
Generate and provide managers with department sales and expense reports weekly and monthly.
Communicate effectively with the managing team to provide financial information and insights as needed.
Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment to vendors.
Assist with collections as needed.
Complete month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports. Ensure that all expenses are reflected within the correct account and class.
Maintaining the Chart of Accounts, Item List, and Memorized Transactions as needed.
Complete new hire paperwork and terminations, and process payroll weekly, ensuring that all payroll liabilities payments are completed in a timely manner.
Responsible for the completion of all quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
Responsible for completing monthly and quarterly sales & use tax returns for various entities.
Responsible for the completion of annual general liability and workers comp insurance audits.
Perform other duties as assigned, backing up the CFO as needed.
Requirements
- 3 years of current work experience as a Controller.- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures.- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and QuickBooks.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Organizational skills.- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.- Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or relevant work experience.
