Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and a meticulous approach to handling financial data. The Controller will serve as a critical leader in shaping the company’s accounting function and structure. The Controller will be directly responsible for driving the production of accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

1.Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain and update financial records, including but not limited to ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
• Record and classify financial transactions with accuracy and in a timely manner.

2.Month-End and Year-End Close:

• Own in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

3.Financial Reporting:

• Prepare financial statements and reports on a regular basis. 
• Generate and analyze financial reports for management review.

4.Compliance and Regulation:

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and support any exam requests as needed.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.

5.Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with other departments to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide insights to support financial decision-making.

6.Audit Support:

• Coordinate the preparation of documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
• Address audit findings and implement recommendations.

7. Other:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for general accounting processes, complex accounting solutions
• Support tax preparation process as needed.
• Management of fixed assets and appreciation and amortization. 
• Monitor company cash position.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Willingness to get Finra series 7 and 24 certification within 6 months of joining.
• Ability to manage multiple legal entities and track intercompany transactions
• Experience with quickbooks and Netsuite
• Ability to consolidate multiple trial balances in excel.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.
• Proven experience as a controller, accountant, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
