About the role!
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Administrator to add to our accounting team! This position is a full-time in office position at our Houston office located at- 16850 Diana Lane Ste 104 Houston, TX 77058. The ideal candidate for this position has experience in Accounts Payable processes and has previous experience in the construction industry.
The Opportunity-
Jamail & Smith Construction has been in business 41 years, and we are continuing to grow! We are looking to add a qualified teammate with an accounting background to help the financial side of the business. The Accounts Payable Administrator will assist with keeping our system running smoothly, getting invoices processed on time, and monitoring the company’s expenses.
What You Will Do-
· Assist with processing, verifying and reconciling invoices.
· Data entry into Sage 300 & Paperless software’s.
· Assists with recording all accounts payable transactions.
· Interact with subcontractors & respond to all subcontractor inquiries.
· Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
· Assist in month end closing.
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted.
· Expense Tracking: Record and track project-related expenses, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.
What You Bring to the Table-
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence & memos.
- Strong work ethic & willingness to learn the Jamail & Smith way!
- Previous experience in accounting with a construction company preferred.
- Previous experience with Sage 300 and paperless accounting software’s.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills.
- Excellent communicator-able to work as a team member and provide support to staff.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7am- 4pm.
