investment Institute is Hiring a Human Resources Associate Near Washington, DC

As the leading global association of mutual funds, ETFs, and other regulated funds, the mission of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) is to strengthen the foundation of the asset management industry for the ultimate benefit of the long-term individual investor. 

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Associate assists in the administration of human resources policies, programs, and procedures.

Essential functions of this role include:

  • Conducts new employee orientation. Provides required information, including handbook, benefit information, etc. to new employees and reviews information to ensure understanding. Assists in completion of payroll and benefit forms. Recommends revisions to orientation program. 
  • Participates in recruitment activities, including drafting ads, conducting and scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate travel, administering background checks, and maintaining records in compliance with federal and state laws. Conducts exit interviews.
  • Utilizes ADP Workforce Now HRIS to update system records, such as new hires, transfers, benefit enrollments and changes, title changes, and employee terminations. Ensures information input is correct and up to date. 
  • Fills temporary staffing requests. Identifies appropriate agencies and negotiates costs.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of employee activities to include the holiday luncheon, staff social gatherings, and other employee functions.
  • Assists in updating and maintaining Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains electronic employee files. Ensures all information is in compliance with federal and state regulations. Ensures legally required posters are current.
  • Coordinates biweekly timesheets for non-exempt staff and ensures timesheets are submitted by Accounting’s processing deadline. Provides Accounting with monthly leave taken for Brussels staff.
  • Provides Strategic Communications with HR-related information, such as staff birthdays and anniversaries, for monthly internal newsletter. 
  • Purchases employee gifts, and sends flowers and cards to staff as needed.
  • Completes annual EEO and OSHA reporting.
  • Assists with travel, expenses, and other administrative duties for the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required and assigned.

If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:

  • Undergraduate degree and one year of experience or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • A high level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and members.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strict confidentiality is required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with HRIS; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources preferred.
