POSITION SUMMARY – Staff Accountant
We are seeking a Staff Accountant experienced in project-based accounting to support the accounting functions of Iapetus Holdings, LLC (“Iapetus”) in Houston, Texas for various lines of business. This role will be assist in the month-end close process, consolidation of financial statements, and general ledger review. The role will work side-by-side with the Controller, and other members of the accounting team, to complete day-to-day accounting functions including A/R, A/P, cash posting, payroll review, and other general accounting activities. Will also be responsible for identifying areas for improvement and putting measures into place to execute the improvements. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for supporting the company’s month-end close process and reconciliations, ensuring work is completed in an accurate and timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Prepares consolidated financial statements for reporting packages as required by internal business leaders and lending partners.
• Assists with audit preparation and acts as a liaison between Iapetus and third-parties
• Helps with the development of accounting policies, SOP’s and other controls for the company.
• Project based accounting expert for various lines of business.
• Develops customer invoices, posts cash, reviews payables, and performs other general accounting activities.
• Accounts payable ensuring timely payments of vendors and employees. 
• Provides regular and timely updates relevant to accounting function to leaders and other stakeholders.
• Performs ad hoc requests for CEO, COO, Controller, and other business leaders as requested.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 
• Construction experience preferred.
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines with a focus on detail and accuracy.
• Strong Microsoft Excel including familiarity with pivot tables, Vlookup functions, Power BI 
• Strong analytical skills including an ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks, or a similar accounting software required. 
• Must demonstrate ability to identify and fix processes
• Must be highly organized and demonstrate an ability to prioritize work activities.
• Capable of working independently, with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• CPA certification or working towards certification is a plus.
• 3-4 years project based accounting experience
• Familiarity with the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions is required.
