Position Summary:

 The Staff / Senior Accountant ensures that accounting information and practices are correctly reflected by gathering and verifying accurate financial data and reconciling accounts. This individual will be responsible for a number of active concepts as well as number of inactive concepts and will act as a mini-controller for each concept. 

 Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

1. Ensures proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Analyzes period financial statements and provides commentary for management reporting. 
3. Manages period, quarter, and year-end close processes.
4. Able to prepare and submit management reports in a timely manner as well as ensure delivery deadlines. 
5. Collaborating with GM’s and department heads to gather, analyze and interpret relevant financial information. 
6. Aligning general ledger accounting practices to support budgeting and forecasting. 
7. Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct. 
8. Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping. 
9. Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis.
10. Reconcile daily sales out of Toast to Compeat / R365.
11. File monthly sales taxes with the state.
12. Prepare audit materials to facilitate internal and external audits. 

Prerequisites: 

• Should have a high command of Excel, etc
• Knowledge of Restaurant Software of systems like Restaurant 365, Compeat, etc
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Flexible and self-directed worker with ability to stay focused and meet goals, while working independently.
• Detail oriented and analytical. 
• Willing to contribute effort to all aspects of restaurant operation when needed, even if not financial department oriented. 
• Willingness to work as an overall team member to help ensure continued growth and success of the company.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance; CPA is a plus. A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience. Industry experience is a plus.
