Hyatt Place Atlanta/Downtown is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Atlanta, GA

Job Overview
Meets and exceeds revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable and win-win selling approach.
Responsibilities
Direct Sales:
  • Targets results-oriented, high-revenue-potential sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, following goals established by the department budget and marketing plan. To make sales calls, one must have reliable transportation and a valid state driver's license.
  • Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue
  • growth. This will include group, business travel, and extended stay markets.
  • Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity and 100% of activity goals, as established by management.
  • Connect with clients on-site to develop relationships and identify areas of opportunity.
New Account Development:
  • Captures competitor accounts through networking, research, and reader board surveys to target and solicit those most likely to generate new business.
  • Acquires referrals from existing accounts: Follows up on all leads within 48 hours of receipt to create new business for the hotel.
  • Plans and implements an ongoing Targeted Account Development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and contracts.
  • Continually targets and prospects for new business with a primary focus on Hyatt Place Downtown. 
Yield Management:
  • Utilizes yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance the hotel's financial performance.
Account Service and Management:
  • Maintains a well-documented, accurate, organized, and up-to-date file management system to serve clients and employers in the most suitable, organized, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Develop strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous, and
  • ethical interpersonal interaction.
  • Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, to meet client needs best, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues. Promptly and expediently follow up on all customer needs and inquiries.
Product Knowledge:
  • Conducts research, surveys, personal investigations, and studies the marketplace and territory to effectively capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors' weaknesses and capabilities.
Time Management:
  • Focuses on revenue-producing activity and maximizes selling time by dedicating at least 90% of work time to direct sales efforts.
  • Professionalism: Controls expenses while traveling on the property's behalf.
  • Represent themselves and the hotel with integrity and professionalism, a service-focused approach, and a caring, sincere attitude.
  • Exhibits a positive and team-oriented attitude in all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all co-workers to improve the hotel's overall performance. Displays a neat, clean, and business-like appearance at all times.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Two years minimum in sales; hotel experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Requires knowledge of general sales techniques.
  • Requires yield management experience.
  • Requires highly developed customer service skills.
  • Requires hearing, speaking, reading, and writing English fluently.
  • Requires 12th-grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills.
  • Requires practical business writing skills.
  • Must be able to meet clients on and off premises, tour the property, and attend functions.
  • Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Work on more than one task at a time.
  • Develop strong internal and customer relationships.
  • Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance.
  • Solve problems and make sound business decisions.
  • Respond to coaching, feedback, and training. Solid and practical sales skills.
  • Knowledge of the Downtown market is preferred.
  • Knowledge of group, extended stay, and local negotiations is preferred.
  • Independent thinker, resourceful with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Bending/kneeling - repeated bending and kneeling required while filing
