TransAxle is hiring a Director of Human Resources for a full-time position in Cinniamison, NJ. 
 
To support continued growth, TransAxle is seeking an HR Director that can lead our talent and organizational development efforts from our Cinnaminson, NJ headquarters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly dynamic environment and will be energized by the opportunity to build and leverage a high-performance team within all levels of the organization. The HR Director position is a high visibility, high impact role with responsibility to provide the full range of day to day and project HR support for the organization. 
As a member of the Senior Leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO, the HR Director will direct and coordinate all human resources activities, including recruiting, retention, staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, compliance, payroll, and culture development company-wide:

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  •  Strategy: Partner with the TransAxle leadership team to establish and implement comprehensive workforce strategies in support of TransAxle’s business objectives, including workforce planning, employee engagement, employee retention, compensation and benefits, employee development, and performance management.
  •  Engagement & Retention: Coach and support managers in building a positive culture and hiring, retaining, and engaging a strong team. Lead company engagement efforts, establishing a disciplined process for continuously measuring and improving employee engagement. Collaborate with peers to instill a culture that embodies the TransAxle Core Values.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as the subject matter expert for managers and employees, handling questions, interpreting policies, and helping resolve work-related problems and conflicts by developing managers’ employee relations capabilities.
  • Recruiting & New Hire Activities: Lead recruiting and staffing efforts for the business from forecasting through new hire orientation through retention. Proactively identify anticipated vacancies and implement plans to ensure timely and effective staffing of required personnel. Develop and maintain a robust recruiting network to ensure a quality pipeline of appropriate candidates. Develop and deploy new hire onboarding programs that speed the transition of new employees to productivity.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Develop TransAxle’s total compensation strategy and overall employee value proposition, establishing and aligning base and variable compensation and employee benefit programs with the company’s growth strategy. Document job descriptions, conduct regular market benchmarking, and administer wage review processes. Manage the annual benefits renewal process, oversee ongoing benefits administration, and effectively administer leaves of absence.
  • Payroll & HRIS: Supervise payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely payrolls. Lead the efforts to expand TransAxle’s HRIS platform capabilities and improve workforce productivity by optimizing its use.
  • Talent Management: Drive talent management by administering regular performance reviews, designing career progression plans, facilitating performance improvement plans, coaching managers to effectively manage good and poor performance and leading the organization in the development of effective succession plans. 
  • Training: Develop and conduct effective training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge on job specific functions, company policies, and other issues as they arise. 
  • Compliance: Develop and administer HR policies, practices, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable US laws and regulations. Prepare, file and maintain required state and federal reports. 
  • Risk Management: Oversee and manage the commercial insurance program and annual renewal process. Manage worker's compensation, property, and GL-related claims to minimize company expenses. Collaborate with insurance carriers, outside counsel, and other executives to address litigation, complaints, or claims against the company. 
  • Leadership: Provide leadership, direction, mentoring, and guidance to HR department staff, currently consisting of one recruiter and one HR generalist. Serve as an example of TransAxle’s core values for other leaders and staff within the organization.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years generalist HR experience, with exposure in all areas, including employee relations, talent development, and compensation and benefits.
  • Strong expertise in recruiting, talent acquisition, and employee engagement.
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP or -SCP certification.
  • Intermediate Skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
