A top client is hiring for an experienced Controller located in New York, NY. In this high visibility role, the Controller is ultimately responsible for driving the creation and implementation of scalable systems, internal controls, processes, and procedures to support high growth. The Controller will also support decision-making through accurate, timely, and useful Accounting and Finance reports. S/he will maintain the general ledger, oversee the financial close process, and prepare financial statements.

As the Controller you will:
- Plan, organize, and implement key accounting/finance packages including monthly GAAP accrual financials, cash controls, cash forecasting, lender analysis, and other financial packages.
- Maintain internal control and safeguards related to corporate governance, revenue, costs, receivables, payables, and capital expenditures.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks across all company locations.
- Support integration of acquisitions into the consolidated accounting function.
- Create and calculate KPIs for the leadership team.
- Partner with the leadership team to push metric management discipline throughout the organization.
- Support leadership team decision-making from a financial and analytical perspective.
- Lead and manage a team of 3.
- Champion the year-end audit by providing the requested information to the external CPA firm.
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- 7 years of relevant work experience.
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting; Master's or MBA is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to perform analyses.
- CPA is required.
- Private Equity experience is preferred but not required.
- M&A and purchase accounting experience is a bonus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, and team player mentality.
