HOLT Group is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near San Antonio, TX

Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for all aspects of processing payroll. This position establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine and nonroutine processing, tax reporting, special and routine bonus payments, commission payments, and internal financial reporting for all of HOLT Group's operating companies. The Manager is responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and timely by working with Human Resources and various departments delivering targeted results within determined time frames and achieving overall customer satisfaction. This position will also be responsible for automating and improving current processes and procedures relating to the human resource and payroll functions.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education required
  • Certified Payroll Professional certification preferred
  • Seven or more years of experience including supervision with at least five years of experience in a payroll position
  • Experience with reputable HRIS such as Oracle, Paycor, SAP, etc.; Experience with UKG-preferred
  • Experience with managing large amounts of data
  • Proficient use of Excel and knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Visionary with the ability to influence and execute strategic direction
  • Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and manage a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Essential Functions:
  • Hires develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Set up and maintain functional payroll systems
  • Ensure one-time or permanent changes in payroll (e.g., salary increases, tax deductions, bonuses, expense reimbursements) are accurate and done timely
  • Train employees, when necessary, who use the payroll system in their day-to-day responsibilities
  • Manage payroll discrepancies quickly and efficiently
  • Understand payroll tax laws and labor legislation in multiple states and ensure compliance with all applicable payroll tax laws in each state
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and operating business units to provide reporting used to manage the business and forecast future payroll-related costs
  • Manage the annual 401k and workers' compensation audits
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees with questions about their pay
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity around employee information
  • Assist with affiliate annual audits
  • Manage the W-2 processing for all companies
  • Administer the Motus program for eligible drivers
  • Manage Quarterly and Year End tax reconciliations
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
  • Up to 10%
