Performs data entry and updates in SAP system to ensure employee’s records are accurate for the processing of CPS Energy’s bi-weekly payroll. Performs fundamental accounting and administrative support in Financial Services as related to time entry and payroll processing. Reviews and monitors business transactions have been properly recorded.

*Please note: This is a 3 month contract*

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Process master data changes accurately and timely for employees and retirees, including but not limited to garnishments, deductions, benefits, etc.
• Process time entry correction requests for active employees.
• Distributes weekly control reports to business units, including but not limited to 40/80 hours report, sick non-pay reports, time exceptions not released, etc.
• Reviews payroll time entry reports for accuracy to correct time entry errors.
• Process master data changes accurately and timely for termed employees and ensures all time exceptions have been approved for final pay check
• Keeps the manager informed of any payroll issues. Assists coworker with backup duties.
• Develops and maintains desk procedures.
• Provides customer assistance on a timely manner for both internal and external customers.
• Performs related administrative tasks including but not limited to filling out employment verifications, garnishment inquiries, request for payments, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic understanding of accounting/bookkeeping
• Ability to work with detailed quantitative data with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to prepare job or desk-top procedures
• Ability to examine information and apply logical thought processes
• Demonstrated ability interact well with others (peers, co-workers, all levels of the organization and outside entities).
• Ability to prepare written summaries of analysis and findings for management.
• The ability to work conscientiously and reliably with minimum supervision.
• Ability to effectively use of a calculator/10-key.
• Proficiency in data input, transaction processing and data extraction.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled by supervision to meet work deadlines and schedules.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning Software such as Peoplesoft, J.D. Edwards, Oracle, etc.
