GLY Construction is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Bellevue, WA

GLY’s HR Director provides senior level leadership and guidance to HR Operations and the overall organization. The HR Director is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating best in class, compliant human resources policies, procedures and programs that support the overall vision, purpose and values of the firm. The HR Director provides strategic leadership by articulating organizational HR imperatives to Executives and Shareholders, and by participating in Business and Strategic Planning efforts. Overall responsibility for helping to ensure the long-term vitality of the organization and a positive work experience for our employees.

what you get to do:

  • Lead an integrated and strategic approach to full life-cycle talent acquisition.
  • Direct all talent management and retention / engagement initiatives, programs and activities, including learning professional development.
  • Oversee Employee Benefit Programs; supervising all activities associated with insurance carrier renewals, including evaluating current plan design, census analytics and best practices benchmarking efforts. Manages the Benefits Administrator.
  • Maintain a strategic Compensation Structure in accordance with relevant regulations and industry best practices; monitoring compensation trends to maintain a competitive position in the marketplace.
  • Lead all Employee Relations efforts and conduct or supervise workplace investigations.
  • Participate in Union Relations efforts, maintain knowledge of Master Labor Agreements, develop and maintain relationships with business agents and staff, and participate in negotiations as appropriate.
  • Serve as a leader on the DEI Committee with a focus on Workforce Development and Training.
  • Plan and manage multiple HR Budgets
  • Oversee HR Administration, ensuring compliant and discreet management of the HRIS platform and HRIS records.
  • Ensure proactive compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws, legal requirements and reporting regulations.
  • Hire, train, supervise and mentor HR Team members.

what it takes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, Education or related field, and fifteen or more years of progressive, directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and all federal, state and local regulations related to employment.
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience, including managing teams of 2 or more.
  • Proven track record of success in talent acquisition and retention in a complex organization of 250 employees.
  • Demonstrated high-level critical thinking, communication, situational judgment and organizational skills.
  • Solid organizational development and leadership capabilities
  • SHRM-SCP accreditation preferred.
  • Construction industry experience preferred

The full salary range for this position is $165,000 to $200,000 annually and represents a range of experience starting at 10 - 15 years.
