GLOMO is Hiring an Operations Manager Near Houston, TX
As Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the moving terminal. You will be responsible for acting as a liaison between the local crews, coordinators, and salesmen.
Responsibilities:
- Work with coordinators and dispatch to ensure paperwork and inventories are checked. You will go over the job scope with each crew to set the expectations for each job.
- Assign the teams to each job and advise crews on the logistics of the assignment.
- Work with each warehouse manager to go over what projects/HHGs will be coming in or out that week. Also, balance the helpers needed between warehouses.
- Keep local labor to a minimum.
- Answer dispatch calls and set up labor for the drivers.
- Handle any disputes between the customer and crews for local work both HHG and Office Moves.
- Complete the logs for our local drivers and submit them to headquarters.
- All the normal duties of a Local Dispatcher / Operations Manager plus help in any way they can.
- A degree in Business Administration, Sales, Operations Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience (3 years) in a leadership role within the moving and storage industry preferred.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and expanding market presence preferred.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data, make data-driven decisions and manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and safety standards.
