The Operations Manager oversees the activities of the production and maintenance departments, ensuring all products and procedures conform to customer and code requirements. Responsibilities:Ensures all equipment is maintained and operational to meet production requirements Adheres to all site and company rules, regulations, and PPE requirementsMaintains a safe, injury and accident-free facilityManages production and maintenance teamsEnsures operational excellence throughout production areasProvides production-related information to customersMaintains compliance with company qualityCoordinates the resolution of internal and external technical conflicts and issues in a proactive and timely mannerProactively identifies potential issues that could cause production delaysDesigns and implements production process training systemsMaintains staffing levels of operations teammates to meet production requirementsEnsures operational expenses stay within the predetermined budgetEnsures all production KPIs meet or exceed goalsAnalyzes and improves organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layoutMaintains steel and consumable inventory Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred10 years of experience in an industrial production environment5 years of experience managing an operations teamLean manufacturing or Six-Sigma certifications preferredThorough knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systemsIn-depth knowledge of pipe fabrication processes and proceduresExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, client specs, ASME & AWS code books, and welding proceduresProfessional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient MS Office skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independentlyGood judgment and decision-making skills Benefits:North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
