The Finance Director- Premix Operations is the lead business partner to the GN Premix Operations team. This role leads the team which is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis to support the North America premix manufacturing sites (Carlsbad, Springfield, West Haven and Taylorville) and associated support functions, as well as responsibility for consolidation of global operations premix reporting. Key areas of focus include cost of manufacturing, inventory, operations KPI’s and product costing . This is a hybrid role from the Chicago, IL office and can also be located at one of our other GN plant sites.
As the Finance Director, Operations you will:
Partner with GN Global Supply Chain Senior Leadership Team to drive efficiencies and growth. Develop a high performing team across North America that successfully delivers quality financial reporting and insights to facilitate accurate and timely decision making. The team is currently made up of five employees. Embed the company’s purpose, vision and values in all team activities and to ensure that robust succession and development planning is in place. Be responsible for the monthly financial operations close and reporting cycle. Lead monthly accounts reviews to understand variances, and summarize explanations to key stakeholders as required. Lead all aspects of product costing, including setting standard costs, review of actual cost against standard, as well as supporting costing for business quotes and RFP’s. Ensure that key stakeholders understand the drivers of costs. Prepare budgets/ forecasts for cost of manufacture as well as setting key operations metrics within gross margin. Lead the monitoring, reporting and analysis of operations KPI’s to support the global premix business. Lead inventory reporting and analysis, specifically around the overall balance as well as inventory at risk. Implement proactive solutions to avoid inventory write offs. Monitor the control environment to ensure that cycle counts are being performed in line with group policy. Consolidate key global premix reports as required, ensuring consistency of approach. Lead cost savings initiatives across all sites, including the accurate measurement of savings, and guiding the operations teams on areas of opportunity. Be responsible for capital expenditure project accounting including ROI analysis, tracking project spend vs. plan, and initial fixed asset setup Collaborate effectively with Accounting and Control, Commercial Finance and other Operations Finance teams. Participate in special projects/actions teams ​​​​​​​
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of related experience. CPA license preferred but equivalent experience will be considered. Hands-on experience of using and operating SAP systems, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint Ability to work in a cross functional matrix organization Strong leadership and influencing skills Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill TRAVEL - Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%)
