The Director of Finance role is a critical leadership position in our newly created team. As we embark on a journey to build a dedicated operational organization, we are seeking a Director of Finance to oversee the financial management of our current and future operations.

The primary responsibilities include:

• Maintain accounting systems in accordance with GAAP and SEC best practices, integrating Bahá'í principles of unity and respect into financial decision-making.
• Lead financial review meetings with stakeholders and entity leaders, guiding them in aligning financial strategies with organizational values.
• Manage accounts payables, ensuring timely payment of approved transactions while fostering compassionate and inclusive practices.
• Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, reflecting our commitment to transparency and accountability.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets for all entities, incorporating Bahá'í principles into financial planning processes.
• Responsible for IT, HR and Real Estate through approved vendors ensuring external vendors understand our core principles and values.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field;
• Familiarity with, or willingness to understand, Bahá'í faith essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas thoughtfully across diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks; MBA or CPA preferred but not required.

We operate on a hybrid work model with in-person meetings scheduled 1 – 2 days per week in the greater Chicago area. With commitment to our leader and businesses, availability outside “normal” work hours can be anticipated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
