We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Advocate to join our vibrant team. Role OverviewAs a Customer Service Advocate, you play a key role in assisting members with various aspects of their healthcare needs. Daily, you will support 50-70 individuals, helping them manage primary care providers, medications, transportation to appointments, and answering questions related to their benefits. Utilizing your knowledge and empathy, along with multiple web-based systems, you will significantly impact the quality of life for many. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled during our business hours of 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST. Flexibility to work within these hours is required.
Training & DevelopmentComprehensive initial training is provided from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday for the first seven weeks. This role is as challenging as it is rewarding, demanding strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research complex health-related issues. Advocates must effectively navigate multiple databases and engage with members confidently and compassionately. Performance coaching focuses on achieving high member satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesAddress and resolve customer inquiries on the first call by identifying the nature of their needs, such as benefits, eligibility, claims, and more.
Educate customers on consumer-driven healthcare to help them choose the best benefit plans and healthcare providers.
Facilitate connections between customers and care providers for appointment scheduling or specialist consultations.
Support customers in using online resources, fostering confidence and independence in managing their healthcare digitally.
Skills And QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.
At least one year of experience in insurance operations.
Strong computer proficiency.
Commitment to adhering to a defined work schedule, including designated breaks.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in health care or insurance, with an understanding of medical terminology.
Background in social work, behavioral health, or customer service with complex problem-solving.
