Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance is Hiring a Human Resource Specialist Near Chicago, IL

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resource Specialist to join our team. As a Human Resource Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, including talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, training development, and change management. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and maintaining accurate employee records in our HRIS system.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle of talent acquisition, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
- Develop and implement effective talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns and recommend appropriate actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Assist with workforce management activities such as performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Utilize HRIS system (e.g., ADP) to maintain accurate employee records and generate reports as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- Proven experience as an HR Specialist or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and current employment laws and regulations
- Strong understanding of talent acquisition and talent management processes
- Experience with OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives
- Proficient in using HRIS systems (e.g., ADP) to manage employee data
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to adapt to change and drive organizational change initiatives
