BILINGUAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Fuerza Immigration Lawyers is hiring a “Bilingual Administrative Assistant.” This is a full-time, in-person position, ideal for recent graduates looking for office or law office experience.

We are one of the largest family immigration and deportation defense law firms in Northern California. We represent primarily Spanish and Portuguese-speaking undocumented immigrants before the immigration courts, USCIS, and U.S. consulates. All of our employees are bilingual in Spanish and English, and many also speak Portuguese. We keep families together by defending immigrants who face deportation. JOB DESCRIPTION
This position may include some or all of the following duties, depending on the needs of the office:
· assisting clients who are dropping off or picking up documents or evidence;
· delivering outgoing mail and packages to the post office;
· sorting, opening, and processing mail;
· data entry;
· accepting and processing payments;
· producing invoices and billing statements;
· scanning documents; routing files weighing up to about 20 pounds to staff or to file cabinets;
· recording locations of file and documents by typing notes into our client and practice management system;
· keeping the office tidy and organized;
· restocking supplies as needed around the office;
· setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and other equipment for office events;
· attending the front desk and clients as they visit the office;
· answering phones;
· providing information to potential clients on our screening procedures; and,
· other various administrative tasks as needed around the office.
On occasion, the Administrative Assistant may be asked to travel on BART to San Francisco to personally deliver documents to the Immigration Court and agencies.
A candidate for this position must be organized and detail-oriented. A successful candidate must speak Spanish fluently to handle the phones. Ability to speak Portuguese is a plus.

Fuerza is located in a recently remodeled office in Downtown Oakland on the corner of Broadway and 13th Street, directly above the 12th Street/Oakland City Center BART station. The 13th Street Commons (a public plaza/cafe table area) is directly in front of our building.

THE START DATE AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
This position is open immediately, but may be extended to a later date for the right candidate.
This is not a remote position. The Administrative Assistant will be required to process paper-based evidence and filings and assist clients in-person. These functions cannot be completed online.
COMPENSATION
· $19-$22 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
