Fathom5 is Hiring a Technical Project Manager Near Austin, TX

Fathom5 is an industrial technology company building security-first Brilliant Machines to accelerate Industry 4.0. Our work requires us to think critically, act boldly, and move quickly.

We are looking for a curious, creative, and mission-driven Technical Project Manager with preferred experience in maritime and/or autonomous systems. This is an opportunity for experienced software and systems engineers who are highly motivated, innovative and self-directed. This position provides challenging opportunities to apply and expand one’s systems architecture experience and modeling & analytical skills. Specific areas of responsibility include system architecture specification, Model Based Engineering (MBSE) development, and analysis of complex systems.

The Fathom5 Technical Project Manager will:

  • Plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex systems solutions
  • Monitor and test system performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
  • Support analysis and develop actions to address gaps between system performance and system requirements
  • Support requirements management, interface management and architecture change management processes using best-of-breed tools (ex: Cameo, DOORs, etc.)
  • Estimate, plan, schedule, and execute engineering activities
  • Organize work activities, mentor teammates and clients in the development of modeling artifacts
  • Integrate analytics at a system-of-systems level
  • Synchronize software development with hardware and firmware engineering teams and with third-party collaborators to implement industry best practices for Agile delivery

  • Startup Stamina – Fathom5 is changing the world at the intersection of industrial systems and advanced software. Sometimes changing the world requires long hours, standing for full days at events, and medical clearance for carrying computer equipment as well as occasional travel in support of our customers.
The Fathom5 Technical Project Manager is a senior position and will have these credentials:
  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD clearance within first year of employment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any bachelor’s degree with demonstrable experience in software development. Master’s degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience with product development or systems engineering and integration projects
  • Experience developing and documenting applications design using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Demonstrated strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills for developing and delivering technical presentations
  • Referenceable project-based experience in a team environment

$100,000 - $160,000 a year
Salary range is based on publicly available, self-reported data from individuals with the same or similar titles, job duties, and experience level.
