Stamford, CT based medical facility looking to hire a Temporary Administrative Assistant to work within the Safety and Security Department
This role would be for 3-4 months
Monday -Friday 8am-4pm.
Candidate with some experience with joint commission experience is a plus.
JOB SUMMARY:
Manages all aspects of the Emergency Management, Safety and Environment of Care (EOC) Program to ensure compliance with DPH, CMS, TJC, FDA, OSHA and other appropriate standards and regulations.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides operational support to the Safety Management Program and Safety Officer, and functions as the department representative on related committees.
2. Acts as the Emergency Management Coordinator.
3. Assists with the development, implementation and monitoring of organizational and departmental policies, programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable safety and health requirements.
4. Assists with presenting new employee orientation related to EOC and Emergency Management.
5. Performs the data collection, reporting and presentation functions for all safety-related programs/issues. Assists with data analysis, recommends appropriate actions and ensures follow up on actions.
6. Assists in the coordination of related programs such as the Environment of Care Inspection Program, Hazardous Materials Management and Disaster Drills recommending and ensuring completion of actions as needed.
7. Works closely with Infection Prevention and Employee Health.
8. Investigates and coordinates the resolution on all safety related variances.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree from a recognized college or university in industrial safety or other related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (1-3) years progressive work experience in developing, implementing and monitoring a health care safety and EOC program.
Experience with the Joint Commission Environment of Care standards, the Emergency Management standards and the survey process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Must demonstrate understanding of Hospital Safety principles.
Demonstrated understanding of Emergency Management principles.
Advanced knowledge and skills in interpretation of State, Federal, and Local Codes as it pertains to safety.
