Edscha Automotive is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Auburn, MI

JOB SUMMARY

Administer all HR related activities including benefits, payroll, recruitment and policy administration. Assist employees with HR related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary;
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non exempt personnel.
  • Performs benefits administration to include orientation and open enrollment strategy, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees;
  • Develops and maintains reporting requirements; files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations;
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees;
  • Conducts new-employee orientations; monitors succession planning, writes and places advertisements;
  • Handles employee relations activities
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory; Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed;
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database;
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment;
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual;
  • Performs any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriate

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred), but any combination of degree and 3 – 5 years HR experience, OR;
  • Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Payroll Experience
  • HRIS systems experience; SAP preferred, but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Professional writing; Intermediate MS-Office skills.
  • Able to apply state and federal laws via Edscha policy.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including off shift and long hours to accommodate manufacturing needs.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Critical thinking skills and complex problem solving abilities.
  • Able to handle the stress of a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

1. Must be able to handle the physical demands of the Operations. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

3. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time

4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

5. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

6. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

7. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
