JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing employees' paychecks by collecting their data and electronic timesheets. Their duties include verifying work hours, issuing deductions from wages or other earnings statements to workers, and updating records regularly to keep things running smoothly within a company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Process time worked by verifying the accuracy of time entered.
• Compute wages and deductions for regular and union employees.
• Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records.
• Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Must perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the Payroll Supervior. The position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor office environment.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes: Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• 2 years’ experience as a payroll clerk.
• Excellent math and numerical skills.
• Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting with great attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Business and Management Principles and Practices.
• Computer ability with working knowledge of relevant software.
