Project Controls will report on all commercial aspects of US projects and coordinate with Procurement, Accounting and other operation personnel to report on US projects status for effective monitoring and control of the projects. This position will support the US General Manager and front line leaders to deliver commercial outcomes across the projects. These activities will be conducted within generally accepted project controls/accounting principles and TMI policies and procedures. Previous experience in the industrial, mining and/or construction industries is preferred, but not a requirement.

Project controls will support current projects and develop schedules in conjunction with bidding activities.

DUTIES:

1. 75% of time will involve reviewing project metrics, utilizing internal systems to report monthly and demonstrate project progress.

1. The successful candidate will be able to:

1. 1. demonstrate knowledge of key accounting terms, concepts and best practices for reporting on financial results.
   2. Discuss how project metrics may be used in analyzing project progress.
   3. Ability to setup future models for upcoming projects while working with the project estimating team.

2. 15% of time will involve reporting project status

1. Assist the Project Manager with project management reporting, including management of internal relationships and participation in meetings with the client. 
2. Support implementation of the project quality plan to ensure timely project tracking, execution, performance and monitoring.
3. Evaluate weekly progress measurement and capture progress of the project activities within a schedule (Primavera P6 preferred)
4. Detect deviations and suggest project adjustments.
5. Coordinate the project team’s preparation of periodic internal and external progress reports.
6. Assist the project team with evaluation of risks and opportunities; maintain a project risk register.
7. Review project estimating efforts to ensure continuity with project baseline.
8. Produce custom reports per request of client or internal management.

3. 10% of the time will be other duties as requested by the US General Manager.

SCHEDULE:  The position is expected to work an 8 hour day, 5 days a week

TRAVEL:  Travel is planned to be quarterly (5%) or in direct on-site support of new projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 5 years of related experience is preferred.
2. College and/or university degree in business, engineering, accounting or related fields
3. Strong ability to work effectively independently and with all levels of the project team; proven record for leading a small team of project controls professionals.
4. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
5. Able to use a variety of computer software, including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications; intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.
6. Detail oriented and customer focused.
7. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
8. Able to gain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of organization's operations, policies and procedures, and personnel.
9. Expert organizational skills in order to handle multiple tasks within a demanding mining construction job site environment with a strong emphasis on quality and timeliness.
