OVERVIEW OF THE LEGAL BILLING SPECIALIST ROLE:

• Run pre-bills for attorneys according to designated billing periods.
• Legal Billing Specialist reviews and edits pre-bills based on attorney requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Execute complex bills promptly, particularly electronic billing using third-party software.
• Apply billing policies per client and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
• Legal Billing Specialist sest up billing procedures for new clients and process daily accounts receivables and payables.
• Handle client check requests and generate weekly and monthly reports.
• Process bi-monthly payroll in collaboration with a payroll processor.
• Perform trust accounting tasks and process write-offs and adjustments as per firm policy.
• Legal Billing Specialist utilizes computerized accounting and billing software programs with strict confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEGAL BILLING SPECIALIST ROLE:

• Minimum of 3 years billing and e-billing experience in a law firm environment.
• Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Adaptability to handle cyclical workloads and new assignments with minimal direction.
