Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our team. As a Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. This is a vital role in our company, as you will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Duties:
- Process payroll for employees using various payroll systems such as Paychex, Kronos, or ADP
- Calculate wages, deductions, and adjustments based on employee timesheets and other relevant data
- Ensure accuracy of payroll data by reviewing and reconciling timesheets, pay rates, and other related information
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees on a timely basis
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave balances, and other relevant information
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data is maintained in the HRIS system
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Prepare payroll reports for management as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Coordinator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures
- Proficient in using payroll software such as Paychex, Kronos, or ADP
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
- Knowledge of benefits administration is a plus
Reviewing and preparing employee timecards in Kronos on a timely basis
Interfacing hours from Kronos to ADP for bi-monthly payroll processing
Completing accurate and timely payroll cycles
Editing and balancing payroll batches in ADP for payment
Maintaining payroll deduction authorization records for employees
Maintaining appropriate W-4 tax records for employees
Ensuring employees receive their checks during scheduled pay cycles
Communicating with department supervisors/managers concerning payroll matters
Verifying employee work and personnel records when necessary
Mailing payroll checks to employees no longer employed
Preparing quarterly payroll reports as required
