Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist.
The Accounts Payable Specialist ensures that bills and expenses are accurately recorded, matched with invoices and are paid in a timely manner. They will verify the accuracy of invoices, reconcile discrepancies, maintain employee and vendor relationships, and update financial records. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of CPR by ensuring smooth and efficient payment processes.
The new hire is expected to reside in the Denver Metro upon starting - this is not a remote position.

You are particularly detail oriented, organized and analytical. You know that strong attention to detail helps avoid errors. You don’t approach work rigidly, but are flexible and adaptable as processes develop and change. You’re excited about learning new processes, software and tools. You look forward to partnering with multiple departments, helping them efficiently and accurately process financial items. You communicate proactively because you know the ability to collaborate and maintain trusting working relationships is crucial for addressing inquiries, resolving issues and fostering productive partnerships. Your ability to manage your time is strong and you’re comfortable with needing to switch between tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years of experience related to the position including (a degree related to the position can help make up for 1 year of experience needed):
Knowledge of financial processes such as financial systems and procedures related to accounts payable.
Experience with data entry and coding / entering receipts into an accounting system, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to consistently produce accurate and deadline driven work.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Excellent time management skills with a strong ability to prioritize tasks.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High ethical standards for confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
A technological proficiency with accounting software and ability to pick up new programs effectively.
Education Equivalency:
High School or GED degree required. Relevant Associates or Bachelors degree may replace some of the years of experience required.
