General Summary: As the Director Human Resources, you will serve as the HR Services leader and acts as a strategic advisor supporting operational strategies for the corporation. Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), direct and manage human resources (HR) practices, policies, objectives, and initiatives for the organization. Implement and oversee all HR functions, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, associate relations, compensation, performance management, benefits, organizational development, workers compensation, and unemployment processes. Partner with leadership across the organization to provide HR programs aligned with the organization's operational goals and identify HR best practices to meet evolving organizational needs.
Summary of Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of the development & administration of HR practices and policies including compensation and benefits, recruiting, professional development & associate relations./
• Translate organizational strategy into HR directives and objectives.
• Evaluate, recommend, and administer a competitive compensation program.
• Directs the organization's talent management strategy to recruit, develop and retain a skilled workforce, including oversight of talent acquisition and organizational development.
• Direct the evaluation, communication, and administration of new and existing associate benefit programs.
• Direct compensation and payroll activities, including salary increases, performance-based incentives and other compensation decisions.
• Manage and resolve complex associate-related issues.
• Direct the performance management processes for all associates.
• Establishes and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to communicate, measure and track talent acquisition and onboarding key outcomes to support the operational needs of the corporate team and the 16 early childhood and preschool educational programs currently in Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, and Wooster.
• Understands, uses, and interprets HR and business metrics to identify trends, problem solve and influence change.
• Investigates complex employee complaints and makes recommendations to senior leaders.
• Viewed as a trusted and strategic advisor to the corporate executive leadership team regarding key organizational and HR issues.
• Navigates difficult discussions and complex situations to assist leadership with assessing performance deficiencies and developing plans to address.
• Serves as a coach in efforts related to change management, engagement, team effectiveness, and leadership development.
• Facilitates leadership development initiatives such as retreats, new leader assimilations, and team engagement activities.
• Oversees that leaders are informed and compliant with organizational initiatives (e.g., annual performance reviews, merit, engagement, compliance, flu, etc.) and regulatory compliance.
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO or COO on an ad hoc basis.
Summary of Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business or human resource management or related fields required. Master's degree preferred.
• Human Resources certification strongly preferred (Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)).
• Ten plus years' progressive experience in all areas of human resources, including strategy development and supervision of recruiting, compensation, payroll, and professional development required.
• Demonstration of HR policy development and implementation consistent with best practices and laws related to employment.
• Experience implementing strategies and systems for talent management, compensation and benefits utilizing ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HCM platform.
• Ability to function in a consultative capacity with Clever Bee Academy centers and with executive management required.
• Expertise in analysis, critical decision making, project management and process improvement required.
• Proficiency in making presentations to small and large groups required.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively in sensitive and confidential issues by telephone, in writing, and in face-to-face contacts with the public and with associates required.
• In depth knowledge of employment and labor laws (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, NLRA, etc.).

• Requires analytical skills in talent management, workforce planning, and HR strategy, including the ability to analyze and apply data measure performance and outcomes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to travel throughout the Clever Bee Academy Corporate office and current centers throughout Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, and Wooster.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
