About our Founder:

Anisa Telwar Kaicker founded our organization in 1993 from humble beginnings, Anisa International is the only self-funded and female-owned cosmetic brush manufacturer in the world.

The Team

At Anisa, Finance is responsible for the global process management, budget planning, and accounting controls, that pertain to account payables, and receivables, payroll, reimbursements, general ledger controls, executive reporting, and tax filings that pertain to all parts of the business. In this department, our team members are committed to the financial sustainability and profitability of the businesses.

THE ROLE

The Controller position is a key role for the organization and is responsible for directing all corporate accounting and designated financial functions, including reporting and cash management. Overseeing the Accounting team, you will ensure the reliability and prompt availability of business data, financial reporting, budget information, and financial analysis. In addition, we have a subsidiary in Tianjin, China (Anisa Tianjin) and part of this position is collaborating with our Finance and Accounting team at Anisa Tianjin. The ideal candidate will be driven by accurate reporting and analysis, detail-oriented auditing of processes and results, and an understanding of the importance of timely, clear communication.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans, directs and manages all accounting and delegated finance-related activities for 3 businesses (1 B2B and 2 D2C).
• Ensures accuracy of accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and inventory.
• Maintains accuracy of the general ledger including review of journal entries and monthly reconciliations; performs meaningful variance analysis and presents results to leadership.
• Reviews and provides oversight of monthly close.
• Prepares and maintains accurate financial reports; presents standard monthly management reporting package.
• Leads and manages the process for annual financial forecasts and corporate, subsidiary, and department budgets.
• Responsible for cash flow management and management of foreign currency.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring for the Accounting Department team; creates an environment that inspires, fosters, and encourages team members to express differing views, approaches, and solutions that deliver the best results for the company.
• Implements, documents, and maintains best practices processes for the accounting and finance department.
• Implements internal controls that ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial reporting; monitors and enforces internal controls to minimize risk to the company.
• Oversees and participates in revenue recognition and revenue operations, including sales tax liability.
• Manages audits and annual tax filings with outside firms.
• Collaborates with senior executives to understand their needs for analysis and reporting; provides ad-hoc financial information as requested by Executive Management and other departments.
• Serves as a key technical expert for accounting matters and helps to inform business decisions that increase the value of the company.
• Manages other projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience is required.
• 4 years managing a team of direct reports; proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
• CPA certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in Ecommerce/D2C required; Shopify experience preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience required.
• Proven experience working in ERP platforms.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and can consistently meet deadlines.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution.
• Expert level of proficiency in Excel required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources, and collaborate across disciplines and locations.
• Curious and forward-thinking.
• Self-motivated and independent, detail-oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards.
