Rowland, Inc. is Hiring a Division Controller Near Atlanta, GA

AllClear Underground Solutions (“AllClear”) is a holding company launched by Calvert Street Capital Partners, an investment firm based in Baltimore, Maryland to facilitate the creation of leading provider of maintenance services to owners of water and wastewater infrastructure.

AllClear completed its second acquisition, MME Inc., in April 2024. MME is leading provider of conventional open-cut pipeline repair and manhole rehabilitation services based in the Atlanta metro area. We are seeking to grow and evolve into a one-stop maintenance provider for municipal, industrial, & commercial operators of underground pipeline infrastructure (sewer, water, stormwater) in the Southeastern US.

To that end, ACUS is seeking to add a Division Controller to our team. This divisional leadership position is fully responsible for MME’s accounting functions. This position is office based, but there is potential for WFH flexibility.

Position Title: Division Controller

Location: Atlanta, Georgia region

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the division’s accounting department, including activities such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
  • Lead the division’s month-end and year-end close process (income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations, & G/L analysis)
  • Assist in preparing the monthly financial reporting and analysis package for the senior management team and Board
  • Collaborate with and assist the Corporate Controller to assess and improve accounting and finance policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies
  • Collaborate with and assist the Corporate Controller to analyze, apply, research, plan and implement accounting department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
  • Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
  • Collaborate with the CFO and overall management team in the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed for the Corporate Controller and CFO

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity and evolutionary organizational growth
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Progressive accounting experience, including 5 or more years as a Controller at a field service, industrial service, or construction related business
  • Adeptness in financial statement preparation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of month end closing processes
  • Experience with NetSuite accounting system
  • Construction industry experience, including building and managing bid/estimating processes, cost accounting, WIP schedules and supporting toolsets
  • Top notch analytical skills, including proficiency with Power BI preferred
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management
  • Advanced credentials such as a Master of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA also preferred
  • Experience working with private equity owned companies and investors ideal
  • M&A transaction and integration experience ideal

Compensation:

  • $120,000 base salary
  • This position is eligible for an annual bonus of 20% of your base salary. The bonus is based on a combination of company financial performance and individual objectives
