About Us:

Tulip Pasta & Wine Bar located in Fishtown, specializes in creating modern pasta dishes, utilizing local and seasonal ingredients.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine (CDC) to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations at Tulip Pasta. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and creative chef with a strong background in pasta-making techniques and kitchen management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Develop and execute creative and seasonal menus featuring a variety of pasta dishes, appetizers, and entrees.
  • Collaborate with the executive chef and in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, portion control, and plating presentation.
  • Manage inventory levels, food costs, and kitchen expenses to meet budgetary targets and financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food handling procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or similar establishment.
  • Strong culinary skills and a solid understanding of Italian cuisine, pasta-making techniques, and flavor profiles.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating kitchen staff.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
