Millennium Hotels & Resorts is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Boston, MA

Millennium Hotels and Resorts is a global hospitality management company and real estate group with 125 hotels in Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Our luxury hotel in the heart of Boston is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our amazing Human Resources team.

The Human Resources Manager will direct and ensure the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function to include recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statuary requirements and the execution of employee relation activities, in order to provide each department with the personnel, guidance and support necessary to achieve their customer service and business objectives.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in directing and instructing the management staff in effective recruiting and interviewing techniques using methods such as verbal presentations and written directions to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified and efficient employees.
  • Assist to conduct interviews for all positions.
  • Assist in ensuring that associates are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all training programs.
  • Assist in instructing training classes, analyze and review current and proposed methods, and make recommendations to the Director of Human Resources on staff for improvement.
  • Assist in monitoring the employee performance appraisal programs to ensure reviews are timely.
  • Participate in the reading and analyzing of the evaluations and goals to ensure appraisal comments are appropriate and goals are measurable and achievable.
  • Assist in directing and administering employee relations programs and activities such as employee recognition and service award ceremonies, social functions and general hotel meetings to maintain a positive employee relation’s climate.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and administrations of policies and programs related to the management of all hotel personnel to ensure the maintenance of a positive and productive employment environment. Asist in monitoring it for fair and consistent application.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal laws as well as regulations and court rulings that pertain to Human Resources by reviewing current management practices, implementing new procedures and communicating verbally and in writing any new requirements. Supervise Affirmative Action program.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the General Manager, management staff and line employees in order to maximize the quality and professionalism of the hotel staff by listening and interpreting concerns and objectives and seeking solutions.
  • Control the administration of wages and benefits to ensure the accurate and equitable application of same, analyzing and applying information retrieved from moderately complex reports, manuals and/or computer systems.
  • Review and appraise all personnel changes and paperwork for merit and accuracy. Approve all required Human Resource forms such as Personnel Authorizations and Employment Requisitions.
  • Conducts employee orientation.
  • Administers benefit program within the hotel.
  • Maintains the appropriate level of involvement in Community Affairs.
  • Monitors and develops employee training programs.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/ her attention corrective action could be taken when appropriate.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Millennium from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to comply fully with Millennium’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Education:

Bachelors Degree preferred

Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform duties of the position.

Education and Experience:

B.S./B.A. preferably in Human Resources or Hotel Administration Preferred

A minimum of 3 years Human Resources Manager experience with Hotel exposure preferred

Other:

Spanish language skills preferred.
