Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in occupational safety or a related field is a plus
  • Previous administrative experience, especially in a safety-related role, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of contracting and construction safety regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and organizing safety-related documentation, including safety manuals, procedures, and records.
  • Schedule safety meetings, trainings, and inspections as required.
  • Prepare and distribute safety reports, memos, and communications.
  • Manage electronic and physical filing systems for safety documents.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to implement safety policies and procedures.
  • Help track and document incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety violations.
  • Ensure online customer safety portals are within compliance.
  • Support safety training programs by coordinating schedules, materials, and resources.
  • Maintain training records and certifications for employees.
  • Assist in the development of safety training materials and presentations.
  • Prepare safety performance reports and maintain safety-related metrics.
  • Assist in the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor the inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear. 
  • Assist in coordinating emergency response procedures and drills.
  • Support investigations into workplace incidents and accidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and training.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of safety records.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing safety processes and procedures.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and provide input for safety improvement initiatives.
