Avon Community School Corporation is Hiring a Human Resources Administrative Assistant Near Avon, IN

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Two years’ experience in a clerical role preferred

GENERAL FUNCTIONS/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Director and human resources/benefits
department. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS system (Skyward preferred). Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, outstanding organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources
  • Recruit substitute teachers and conduct initial screening interviews
  • Work closely with Substitute Coordinator to conduct Sub Academy, Sub On-Boarding and Sub Discipline
  • Maintain and process certified and support staff evaluations
  • Support maintenance and renewal cycle of employee criminal history checks
  • Review human resources budget with HR Director, submit invoices for payment
  • Complete purchase orders and ordering of office supplies for HR department
  • Oversee service awards to include eligibility and ordering of awards
  • Coordinate New Teacher Orientation
  • Coordinate compliance training schedule for employees and maintain accurate records of completion
  • Be a liaison between building front office staff and human resources department
  • First point of contact for human resources employee questions
  • Provide back-up support for employee on-boarding
  • Oversee unemployment claims
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
