Wilmorite Management Group is Hiring a HUMAN RESOURCE DIRECTOR Near Rochester, NY

Wilmorite Management Group is a leading commercial real estate development and management company based in Rochester, NY. The company operates four shopping centers in the Rochester market, including Eastview, The Mall at Greece Ridge, The Marketplace Mall, and Pittsford Plaza. Wilmorite has diverse experience developing state-of-the-art shopping centers, academic facilities, standard dormitories, apartment-style student housing suites, mixed-use complexes, large first-class hotels, casinos, resorts, and detailed renovations. JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Director will maintain and enhance Wilmorite Management Group’s human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations, HR, and payroll policies, programs, and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Human Resource Function:
  • Lead recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt workers, including writing and placing advertisements internally and externally; interviewing, training, and counseling supervisors; and preparing/extending job offers.
  • Coordinate pre-employment physicals, drug testing, reference checks, and background checks.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews.
  • Maintain the work structure by developing and maintaining job descriptions and compensation structures as needed.
  • Responsible for local policy and procedure development and documentation.
  • Participate in Employee Handbook reviews and updates as needed.
  • Ensure legal compliance by partnering with employees and management to address employee relations issues and to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and governmental regulations.
  • Represent the company at hearings, as necessary.
  • Partner with Wilmorite’s family of company’s management to respond to employee relations issues, including employee job complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
  • Coordinate all compensation activities and employee record changes.
  • Develop the annual HR budget as requested.
  • Coach and train management and employees as necessary on various HR topics.

Benefits Function:
  • Collaborate with brokers to compare, price, choose, and implement appropriate employee benefit plans.
  • Partner with benefit providers and ADP to develop open enrollment materials and processes.
  • Participate in various benefit surveys/studies to ensure Wilmorite Management Group is competitive with other organizations.
  • Track and manage the Attendance, FMLA, Disability, and Worker Comp programs.
  • Advise employees and file appropriate paperwork for leaves and benefits.
  • Support the payroll administrator with invoice reconciliation, vendor interactions, employee enrollments, and approvals where necessary.
  • Administrator of the 401K and maintain compliance.

Payroll:
  • Supervise Payroll Administrator and act as backup.
  • Partner with the payroll admin to process the weekly payroll and inform the accounting department of cash requirements.
  • Complete GL reporting for both Accounting and month-end for General Managers.
  • Support the accounting department in the preparation of periodic and annual reports.
  • Maintain all paper records.
  • Audit and adjust PTO balances.
  • Coordinate employee training, including sexual harassment training in the training platform.
  • Responsible for updating HRIS with new hires, rate changes, and minimal deduction entries.
  • Prepare month-end billings.
  • Audit 401K plan.

OTHER DUTIES
  • Attends regular Leadership and Supervisor meetings.
  • Maintains current professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies to stay abreast of legal developments and HR best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field.
  • 5 years of relevant HR Generalist experience.
  • Three years’ experience with ADP Workforce Now or other ADP Payroll/Time & Attendance/HRB platforms, preferred.
  • Proven HR Management experience.
  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification is desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal wage and labor laws and HR and Payroll best practices.
  • Comprehensive analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, HR and payroll systems and databases), computer hardware, and company computer server usage.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, establishing procedures and timetables to ensure company compliance with regulatory reporting and procedural requirements.
  • Competence to build and manage interpersonal relationships on all levels of the organization.
  • Experience managing sensitive and confidential situations, investigations, and documentation.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
