Since 2013, our site Unither Manufacturing LLC. based in Rochester (NY), specializes in the manufacture of Blow-Fill-Seal, Liquid Stick-Packs, Pharmaceutical bottles, Tablets and Capsules. It has more than 280 employees.

Your role

Reporting to the HR & HSE Director,

JOB SUMMARY:
Thisposition provides HR services to managers and employees, including all aspectsof talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, employeeengagement, and special projects or initiatives. Provides one-on-oneassistance, interprets and advises on company policies, procedures, practices,and benefit programs. Investigatescomplaints and/or issues effectively and timely. Interprets and ensurescompliance of the law and policies. Escalates issues to appropriate individualsas needed. Makes recommendations in developing policies, procedures and/ortraining. Conducts exit interviews to employees who voluntarily resign. Administers benefits in partnership with abroker, HRIS management (super user/admin), payroll, educational assistance anddisability/FMLA processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
TalentAcquisition
Sources candidates for vacant positions, screens applications and when requested, conducts interviews. Forwards qualified candidates to the hiring manager. Ensures that candidate pool is diverse and coaches managers on diversity initiatives.
Ensures positive employee experience during full cycle process including on site interviews, pre-employment and onboarding.
Coaches hiring managers on job offers. Evaluates issues related to internal and external equity when considering appropriate offers.
Conducts/Presents Human Resource information in New Employee Orientation sessions. Responsible for modifying this program as necessary to improve its effectiveness.
Represents the company at Job Fairs and other external events to promote Unither as an employer of choice. Keeps up to date on recruiting methods to generate qualified candidates. This includes networking and professional organizations to generate qualified candidates.
Conducts exit interview and documents results.
Assistance with and backup for administrative HR functions.
HRBP/Generalist
Payroll and benefits process and reporting (utilizing ADP Comprehensive and benefits broker).
HRIS administration.
Assists in the development of tools/ systems/ communications to provide effective/efficient service.
Designs communications to increase employee understanding of HR systems and processes.
Facilitates HR policy & process updates by ensuring compliance, understanding, and appropriateness.Communicates policies and practices to ensure employee and leader understanding.Provides interpretations as needed and drives consistency.Ensures that end products do not compromise HR management principles or the goals of the organization.
HR policies and creates procedures that reflect corporate and legally compliant programs with related communication materials for employees.
Participates in HR project teams for process improvement or organizational improvement.
Monitors external changes in law, policies, and practices to define and confront risk to employees and the business.Ensures advice to customer groups includes identification of potential human resources risks (e.g. EEO issues).
Drive all aspects of new hire training programs beginning with Orientation and Onboarding of new hires, providing them all of the training needed to enhance their effectiveness and understand the organization’s people practices and processes.
Develops and facilitates HR driven training and development as needed (NYS Sexual Harassment, policy changes, effective interviewing, etc).
Participate in maintenance of the site electronic Applicant and Learning Management System.
Create, review, and/or approve documentation such as standards, procedures, reports, and training materials associated with implementation and subsequent maintenance of the training system.
Coaches’ managers in conducting appropriate corrective actions and terminations.
Intervenes in sensitive areas that cannot be handled as effectively and without legal risk by line management (e.g., harassment cases, management abuse, human rights situations, illegal acts by employees.)
Investigates and advises both management and employees on employee relation issues related to salary, promotion, disciplinary action, terminations and harassment.
Provides managers with council in dealing with employee performance issues

Your profile

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology, or closely related field is required.
4-7 years Human Resources experience required
PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or related is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, payroll, employee relations and other generalist responsibilities required.
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
Thisposition requires the ability to communicate professionally with people at alllevels of the organization. An
individualmust be extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize and multi-task.Having a customer service mindset is critical in this role, as is the abilityto effectively contribute in a team environment. As this position has access toconfidential data on a daily basis, this position also requires extremediscretion. This position must have theability to objectively solve problems on many levels. The problems vary innature from routine to complex employee relations issues with many people andperspectives. Decisions often have to be made “on the spot” which requires notonly knowledge of HR rules and regulations, but also cultural awareness.
SCOPE OF DECISION-MAKING: Decisions require complex analyticaljudgment. Plan and perform a widevariety of duties requiring general knowledge of company policies andprocedures applicable within area of responsibilities and including theirapplication to cases not routinely covered. Requires considerable judgment to work independently toward generalresults, devise methods, modify or adapt standard procedures to meet differentconditions, make decisions based on precedent and company policies.
LEVEL OFSUPERVISION PROVIDED: Project direction ofother employees performing the same or directly related work.
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Regular inside and outside: Requires contacts to carry out company policyand programs. Improper handling willhave considerable effect on operating results. Must often deal with persons ofsubstantially higher rank on matters requiring explanation, persuasion andobtaining approvals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT:
• Frequentlyrequired to walk to other locations in the facility to meet with employees.
• Sitting 75%of the day; walking 25% of the day.
• Liftingrequirements are slight and related primarily to files.
• Fingerdexterity required to operate computer keyboard.
• Hearing ata level to enable one to hear normal conversation.
• Visualrequirements of having the ability to read the computer screen, documents.
• Traditionaloffice environment. Some production areaexposure.

Compensation range

70,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD

*The referenced compensation range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
